Product Design System for Realizing High-quality Design
Contents Due to shortened product development terms accompanying tough cost competition and high functionality and complication of products themselves, a great effort will be required for keeping the quality of the products. Thus, there is a need for finding a defect of the products at an earlier stage of designing and taking measures for improving the defect. In the laboratory, they model a state and an event about the products by Petri net in order to examine the quality of the products inside a computer, and conduct research on expression of product behavior. They propose a method of stepwise detailing the behavior and a structure of the products at the same time, and also introduce a design environment for logically executing expression of a fault and reliability evaluation. We are hoping to conduct collaborative research with business corporations who utilize this system for designing actual products.
